This distinguished natural processed coffee emerges from the highlands of Ethiopia’s Oromia region, specifically the Buku Sayisa district of Hambela. At elevations ranging from 1,800 to 2,200 meters above sea level, smallholder farmers cultivate coffee using traditional agroforestry practices, integrating coffee plants within the natural forest ecosystem. This sustainable approach not only preserves biodiversity but also provides natural shade and organic matter that enriches the soil.

The processing of this lot follows a meticulous protocol at the Buku Sayisa Natural processing site. After being handpicked and carefully sorted, the cherries undergo a natural drying process spanning 12-15 days. During this period, the cherries are influenced by environmental factors including wind patterns, cloud cover variations, and direct sunlight exposure until reaching the optimal moisture content of 10-12%.

This organic production represents a commitment to sustainable agriculture, with local farmers maintaining traditional methods that protect the natural ecosystem while producing exceptional coffee. Once the cherries reach their ideal moisture level, they are hulled, bagged, and prepared for export, completing a journey that begins in the pristine highlands of Oromia and extends to coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
